Community Wondering Who Keeps Leaving Copies Of ‘Mein Kampf’ In Little Free Library Boxes

Just an hour outside of Charleston, South Carolina, the small suburban town of Springfield erupted in chaos on Thursday when residents reported seeing a suspicious number of copies of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf in the little free library boxes around town.

“I was doing my daily walk down Burke Street the other day and stopped by one of those little free libraries to donate my copy of Eat, Pray, Love, a life-changing book by the way, when I noticed Mein Kampf,” local mom Karen O’Connell told The Gas Lamp. “I thought it was kinda funny, so I posted a photo of it in our community Facebook group. That’s when things really went off.”

Shortly after Mrs. O’Connell posted her findings, dozens of community members reported seeing the same thing all across town.

As rumors and conspiracy theories about who was behind the phenomenon started to swirl, the mild-mannered town went into full on pandemonium.

At press time, an anonymous source reported seeing the mayor sporting a little black painted-on mustache, running around town in the middle of the night dropping off copies of the Führer’s book.
