WASHINGTON, D.C. – Shortly after storming out of President Trump\u2019s address to Congress Tuesday night, a handful of prominent Democrats took to social media to rant about how Trump\u2019s actions during the first month of his second term are \u201ccompletely unprecedented\u201d and a \u201cdanger to democracy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is not normal!\u201d Sen. Bernie Sanders shouted on Instagram Live as he walked past reporters in the Capitol rotunda. \u201cWhat this guy is doing is outright dangerous and has never been done by a U.S. president ever before. Poking jabs at the opposition party, bullying foreign leaders into giving America more resources, renaming national landmarks, inviting war heroes and victims of crimes to serve as props during your speech. I mean, where does this guy get his radical ideas from?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the Democrats\u2019 outrage, it\u2019s not the first time they\u2019ve used this tactic to try and discredit Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since he first took office in January 2017, Democrats have consistently cried that whatever Trump is doing has no precedent in our nation\u2019s nuanced 250-year history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether it\u2019s the politicians themselves who have no real understanding of U.S. history, the American people, or both, is still up for debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only thing clear is that the mix of shorter-than-ever attention spans and our failing education system doesn\u2019t bode well for the country\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
