Trump Worried China Has Too Many Red Flags

WASHINGTON, D.C. – With energy prices around the world continuing to rise, President Trump reportedly backed out of negotiations with China to reopen the Straight of Hormuz, citing an abrupt concern that they have too many red flags to continue the talks.

“I spoke to President Xi Jinping on a video call over the weekend,” President Trump told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, “and was shocked to see how many red flags were behind him. Did you know this, Maria? They have so many red flags. My son Baron, a brilliant kid, told me the other day that he doesn’t want to go out with the girls in his classes because they have too many red flags. When I saw those flags, I knew I couldn’t trust him.”

Bartiromo repeatedly tried to interrupt the President and remind him that the Chinese national flag is almost completely red, and that it was no indication that they had any ill-will or bad intentions in the negotiation process.

Despite these facts, President Trump remained skeptical, referrencing the fact that President Jinping had recently left him on read after sending him a late-night text and posted a selfie with other heads of state on Instagram.

At press time, Trump announced that he was planning to split the bill with Jinping at the next state dinner they attend together.
